Your safety comes first
Online verification and moderation can reduce risk, but no platform can guarantee another person’s identity, intentions or behaviour. Take your time, trust your judgement and never feel pressured to continue an interaction.
Protect your identity
- Avoid publishing your home address, workplace or regular daily routine.
- Consider using photographs that are not publicly connected to your other social profiles.
- Do not share financial information, passwords or verification codes.
- Review your profile and photo visibility settings regularly.
Protecting intimate photographs
No website, application or privacy setting can guarantee that a photograph will remain completely private. Someone who is allowed to view an image may still take a screenshot, photograph the screen or make another copy.
We recommend keeping intimate photographs limited to people you trust, using Friends-only visibility and reviewing access regularly.
Only upload photographs you are comfortable sharing with the audience you have selected. Avoid including identifying details such as your face, home, workplace, vehicle registration, documents or distinctive personal information unless you are comfortable doing so.
Sharing or distributing another member’s private or intimate content without permission is prohibited and may result in permanent account removal and referral to the police where appropriate.
Meeting someone for the first time
- Meet in a public or established venue first.
- Tell a trusted person where you are going and when you expect to return.
- Arrange your own transport and keep control of your journey home.
- Keep your phone charged and accessible.
- Leave immediately if you feel uncomfortable or unsafe.
Consent and communication
Discuss expectations and boundaries before meeting. Consent must be freely given, informed, specific and ongoing. Alcohol or drugs can affect a person’s ability to consent.
Never assume consent based on someone’s profile, photographs, relationship type or previous experiences.
Pressure, coercion and controlling behaviour
SwingDesire will not tolerate anyone being pressured, manipulated, threatened or controlled into joining the lifestyle, attending an event, meeting another person, sharing intimate content or taking part in any sexual activity.
Consent must be freely given, informed and ongoing. Agreement obtained through fear, repeated pressure, emotional manipulation, threats or concern about the consequences of saying no is not genuine consent.
If this is happening to you, please do not be afraid to ask for help. You can report the person to the police and you can also report them to SwingDesire through the built-in Report feature or our Contact page.
You do not have to make a police report before asking SwingDesire or a specialist support service for help. The decision whether to contact the police is yours, unless someone is in immediate danger or we are legally required to make a safeguarding report.
We treat reports involving coercion, sexual pressure, stalking, threats, blackmail, intimate-image abuse or controlling behaviour as urgent safety concerns. We may immediately restrict or suspend the reported account, prevent further contact, review relevant activity carried out through SwingDesire and preserve available messages, reports, login records and other evidence.
Where legally permitted or required, we will cooperate with the police and provide relevant records in response to a lawful request. We may also help the reporting member understand what information SwingDesire holds about the incident and how it can be preserved for an investigation.
SwingDesire can only review and monitor activity taking place through our own platform. We cannot monitor private devices, external messaging services or a person’s movements away from SwingDesire.
If you or another person is in immediate danger, call 999. For a non-emergency police report, call 101 or use your local police force’s online reporting service. SwingDesire is not an emergency service, but we will take every reasonable step available to protect members and support a genuine safety report.
No member will be penalised for making a genuine safety report in good faith. We would rather investigate a concern than allow someone to suffer in silence.
Support for women
We understand that some women may feel more comfortable speaking privately with another woman about pressure, coercion, controlling behaviour, sexual boundaries or safety concerns.
You can contact Sophie directly and confidentially at sophie@swingdesire.com. Please use the subject Private safety concern so your message can be prioritised.
Where possible, Sophie will respond personally and treat what you share with sensitivity, discretion and respect.
SwingDesire is not a counselling or emergency service, but we can listen, help preserve relevant information held on the platform, restrict contact where appropriate and explain the reporting options available.
If you are in immediate danger, call 999. You can also contact the police and report the member to SwingDesire at the same time.
Recognising scams
- Be cautious when someone quickly asks to move away from the platform.
- Never send money, gift cards, cryptocurrency or banking details.
- Be wary of urgent stories, investment opportunities and requests for financial help.
- Report profiles using stolen photographs or inconsistent personal details.

Useful support services
If you or someone else is in immediate danger, call 999. If you are calling from a mobile and cannot speak, listen to the instructions and press 55 when prompted to reach the police.
Use a safe device where possible. If you think someone may be monitoring your phone, email, browser history, accounts or location, consider using a trusted person’s device before opening support websites, changing account settings or contacting support.
SwingDesire is not an emergency service and cannot provide specialist legal, medical or crisis support. These independent organisations may be able to help.
